A valid passport is required for travel to mainland Ecuador and the Galapagos Islands. Your passport should be valid for at least 6 months after your arrival to Ecuador. You should always carry your passport with you because you can be stopped at any time by officials who will request to see your documentation.

Most tourists are allowed to stay in Ecuador up to 90 days without a visa. Some current exceptions to this are citizens of Cuba, a few Asian countries and some Central American countries. These requirements are subject to change at any time, therefore it would be wise to consult your nearest Ecuadorian Embassy or Consulate for specific visa information.
