We are a unique travel agency that promotes sustainable, natural and cultural ecotourism throughout Ecuador. Our staff members are top quality professionals in the tourism field, whose main focus is to make our guests feel as if they were at home, while providing first class service and top-quality travel and learning experiences.

BAMBUTRAVEL’s personnel bring together many years of education and experience in tourism, communications, advertising and languages, not to mention world-wide travel experience. Our diverse backgrounds include foreign and domestic endeavors such as: degrees from Northwestern University in the United States and the Polytechnic University of Ecuador and work experience with The Walt Disney World Resort, the Ecuadorian Embassy in the United States, Check Point Travel in Denmark, and university-level exchange students from all over the world.

Our offices are located in Guayaquil, Ecuador´s largest city and economic capital. Due to the efforts of City Hall, Guayaquil has become a frequently-sought destination for foreign visitors and continues to lead Ecuador into a more tourist-conscious future. By constructing many tourist facilities such as the riverfront Malecón 2000, regenerating important historic neighborhoods, restoring and sustaining cultural gems and natural resources as seen in the Las Peñas (the city´s oldest neighborhood dating back to the early 1900s) and Guayaquil Historic Park, and improving transportation and safety throughout the city, Guayaquil is successfully becoming a city that has something to offer all types of travelers.

Guayaquil, which is located in the coastal region on the Guayas River, welcomes visitors with its recently renovated International Airport. It provides a stable, warm climate and is a strategic starting-point for any journey to Ecuador. Cultural and natural points of interest, such as the colonial city of Cuenca (recently given the title of “Patrimony of Mankind” by UNESCO), beaches, and several national parks and reserves are all accessible within a few hours. Guayaquil is also the gateway to all flights heading for the Galapagos Islands, allowing faster connections and shorter flights at better prices.

Our main goal is to create a tourism-oriented culture amongst the people of Ecuador, so that through sustainable practices, Ecuadorians can seek economic alternatives, that will result in the preservation of our cultural heritage, flora, and fauna.

We also have exciting projects for continued investigation of new tourist destinations. Our vision is to involve isolated communities in tourism, so that they can become self-sufficient and productive in a constantly changing global economy, while always emphasizing cultural and ecosystem preservation through education.

Ecuador is an immensely diverse country that offers endless possibilities for tourism. Although a significant number of visitors arrive to only a hand-full of well-known tourist destinations, there are many delightful places in this small country made up of four regions traversed by the equator that are yet to be discovered by the world. Coastal cloud forests, Achuar and Shuar aboriginal communities in the Southern Amazon, the world´s tallest mangroves in Esmeraldas province, Sangay National Park in Tungurahua province, and the Quichua culture in the Andes are just a few of Ecuador´s unexplored treasures.
